About

February, 2006. I receive an email from a remote third world country. They need tech support. I go back to work but it sticks in my brain. I start thinking about the work I do everyday. About the thousands of computers I've fixed. And I think about taking all that knowledge on a little trip around the globe, instead of standing behind a counter in Washington state, wearing a clip on tie. I'm sold.

On September 4, 2006 I left LA for Sydney, Australia. After a few seemingly uneventful days adjusting and setting up bus transportation to my first stop, I headed for Tewantin, a small town a few hours north of Brisbane. The next few days were a confusing mess as I found myself struggling to stand up without blacking out.
The multiple symptoms I showed over the course of two days brought a harsh realization: I needed medical attention before I could continue with my trip. Less then two weeks after leaving, I returned to the States.
My progress with doctors here can be followed on the main blog page, as well as updates on current goals for “continuing” the trip from my desktop. I hope to build a complete and easy to use program of guidebooks and flash video tutorials for use in third world locations. These packets will be sent to each of the locations I had hoped to visit, and more if possible.
